We’ve Sold Out Continuously.’ Meet the Reusable Straw Sellers Cashing In on the Plastic Backlash'

Oct 13, 2018

Reusable straws are continuously growing nation-wide and so far has made an estimated number of 925 million to this day and continuously growing. Marketing is playing a huge role in many company plans for its customers when it comes to reusable straws and how it’s leaving an important impact on society as a whole. “The backlash isn’t just shrinking and saving sea turtles from surgery” they’re also generating a ton of cash for alternative vendors online such as glass, metal and other reusable sources. “major cities like Seattle and companies like Starbucks move away from traditional plastic straws. With the movement reaching a fever pitch, people are looking to purchase more environmentally sound choices."

"Every year in the United States 500 million straws are used and most will end up in the garbage or ocean. Plastic drinking straws have become a large environmental issue. The high profile companies have called to cut out drinking straws waste globally. Company globally in the U.K and Ireland has potentially said to cut them out by 2019 and use paper straws instead. Another restaurant well-known A&W has said to cut out its plastic straws by the end of 2018 also.

"Straws makeup about 4% in the plastic trash and add to about 2,000 tons in the nearly 9 million tons that end up in the water each year.  The value proposition here is selling reusable straws to potential customers. To help make a positive impact and stop plastic waste from going into our oceans and spreading the word to help do your part to clean up the planet.

In my opinion, I feel like We're doing great things for our environment and this is a great idea because it's helping the environment and we're saving our ocean and sea animals by making it better and by keeping plastic waste out of the ocean helps our sea animals and the anatomy stay harm free.

Heres some facts on why you should give up plastic straws:

  • Some plastic straws are still being made with  materials that are potentially toxic
  • And even though some plastic straws are made from recyclable material they can be difficult to recycle
  • Plastic can remain in the environment for over 2,000 years
  • And for several different reasons straws frequently end up in the ocean

Reusable straws are a great way to spread awareness as a marketing manager and to help the environment. It engaging people more by letting them know to help keep our ocean's clean and safe buying reusable straws will help play a major role by continue keeping less plastic waste from out of the ocean, for sea creatures to live in and harm free. The only thing I would maybe add to is bringing an awareness to try and fix more of the problem we are having also with plastic, bowls, cups, forks, and spoons ect. This also brings up uniqueness, benefits for customers, competitive advantage.
